Kashrut & Kosher Food

Kosher food is a type of food that the Torah gave us rules about. The Torah gave us rules on what we are allowed to eat and how it should be prepared. Certain animals are kosher and others are not, and there are also rules about keeping meat and dairy separate. Keeping kosher helps us stay connected to our culture and reminds us to think about the food we eat everyday!

Story Time!

Once upon a time, Aaron was excited because on that day, her family was getting ready to make their kitchen kosher! they had learned all about the special rules that make food kosher, like eating certain animals and keeping meat and dairy apart. First, Aaron and his brother helped their parents set up two sets of dishes, one for meat and one for dairy. Aaron also learned that some foods like fruits and vegetables are always kosher. As they cooked their first kosher meal, Aaron felt proud knowing that by following these special rules, he is connecting to his Jewish roots and connecting to his Jewish culture! he learned that keeping kosher is more than just a set of rules, it's a way to connect deeper to his culture!
