Sukkot

Sukkot, a holiday where we live in booths in order to commemorate the time that the israelites spent in the desert as they were fleeing Egypt. Families build a sukkah, a temporary hut, to live in! It is a time of happiness, a time of feasting with loved ones, and a time of gathering!

Leaves

Story Time!

David had always seen his neighbors building sukkahs for sukkot so this year, his family decided to finally build one as well! David, as excited as he was, went around and found sticks and leaves that he can use for the schach - the roof of the sukkah! Once he and his father finished building the whole sukkah, his family sat inside of it and enjoyed each other's company while feasting on their favorite dish! As they all sat there singing and saying prayers, David realized just how beautiful family time can be and also he felt a wave of gratitude rush over him as he was thankful for the shelter and food that they have - just like the israelites thousands of years ago! David realized that sukkot isn't just about the hut, its about the memories you make and the feelings you feel in the hut!
